Hi. I'm Zaz Lamarr,
writer, cook, web designer and writing coach. After spending a lifetime
writing fiction for the love of it and non-fiction to pay the rent,
I'm finally going to get off my Aeron and work to get some of this
stuff published.
My head is too full of stories for me to ever get them all written
- new ideas grab me all the time! So I can be perfectly happy writing
just for myself and my friends, but, well, some outside validation
would be nice. Maybe a little recognition. (smile)
No, that's not me, on the right, although I wouldn't mind being
that gorgeous and that self-possessed. That's my own little LouLou
who appears with her partner in crime, Sluggo, a huge black male,
many years her junior, in Still Lusting (working title, just barely).
My photo will join hers as soon as I can get an appointment with
my favorite photographer.
Bio:
I grew up in San Francisco, dividing my time between the big city
and the Sonoma-Napa wine country, where my grandmother and my father,
respectively, lived. Thinking back on it, it was a great way to
grow up - the best of city and country. But at the time it seemed
like a real drag to have to go away every weekend. We should all
be so oppressed.
Education and Professional:
I have a Bachelor's in Art and a Master's in Writing and Editing,
so I'm definitely in the right occupations, finally.
I've been very lucky to find a few great writers groups online,
- Jennifer Crusie Writing Workhop
- Chick Lit Writers
- Sisters In Crime Internet Chapter.
These writing communities provide support, ruthless but accurate
critiques and enlightenment on the world of writing for publication.
Great resources for writers!
And to support my culinary pastimes, I'm a member of a really great
organization, the International Association of Culinary Professionals
(IACP).
They have amazing yearly cons, are nice people, support teaching
and lots of good food-related causes. They're just the best! |
